This was a gift. I got mine first, and then I gave the starter set to my daughter as a gift. Good stuff.

We enjoy working and entertaining in our kitchen. Over several decades we accumulated a sizeable repertoire of herbs, spices and other ingredients. However, we had not found a satisfactory way to store and easily access those items without dedicating an inordinate amount of empty space for viewing and selecting an item…until now.

Solutions tried in the past: Dedicated drawers, turntables, under-cabinet folding racks, in-cabinet tilting shelves, in-cabinet stepped shelves, on-the-door racks and more. External storage solutions looked nice but required dusting.

The organizers are available in multiple sizes and styles to accept a variety of containers and fit almost any type of cabinet. Configuration of organizers for your cabinets can be done using a very intuitive interactive tool on the Vertical Spice web site. Just enter the dimensions of your cabinets, select organizers, and the tool will ensure that your selections fit your space.

Packaging of the units was both substantial and elegant. Very securely packed, yet once the box was opened the protective packing opened to allow access to the units in seconds - literally. Nice touch: A personalized thank you was hand written on packing slips for both boxes.

Installation is simple: four screws. Printed instructions are clear and well done. Online videos also provide a clear and thorough walk-through. My installation took less than one hour from opening the boxes to “ready for organization” on our six units. The black bands you see are quality heavy-duty elastic cords that fit into indexed locations on the clear end pieces. They snap in place quickly and easily. (They are not rubber bands.)

The real magic that delivers a great solution: the full extension shelf glides. The last item on the top shelf of the uppermost organizer is as easy to access as the front item on the lowest shelf.

I am handy and have a well-stocked workshop. I have built and refitted pantries with pullout shelves. Sourcing top quality components – perhaps I could have cobbled up something similar. But I like supporting a small midwestern business that has excellent customer service, delivers a quality product, and has earned their reputation for innovation.

You can see the results in the attached photo. We also ordered four sets of the AROMA 12-piece Premium Glass Spice Jar Set with Smart Twist Lid. The four-way sloped lid design is very effective. The height is perfect. We can comfortably fit 48 spice jars this size in our two two-tier organizers. The organizers could easily handle 60 standard size full-height spice jars.

Finally – value. We invested a lot in inferior solutions while searching for the _right_ solution. Someone will be using these organizers long after we shuffle off this mortal coil. If you believe that effective organization contributes to the joy and fulfillment you find working in the kitchen, do not hesitate to make this investment.

I converted on entire cabinet over to Vertical Spice racks, of varying configurations. It's a wonderful transformation of what was once a big disorganized mess. The products install as simply as you described in the instructions, and I appreciate that each unit comes completely assembled. Everything arrived within (2) days of placing the order and professionally packaged. Very impressive.

We had all our spices on one shelf. We didn't really know what was there. Now with the vertical spice rake all our spices are easy to find and we have more space. love it.
